Modular Data Systems

Are you looking for a complete, peer reviewed, expertly engineered modular data system that is constructed for rigidity, security, operating efficiency and aesthetic appearance? Is support from a power packed consortium of industry professionals that truly deliver a full service, turn-key solution of value to you?

The Binary Bunker modular data center is all of the above and it will endure the most vicious environmental conditions, anywhere in the world, without compromising structural integrity. It is an engineered solution that saves you time, operating expenses, and improves your overall efficiency.

Consider the advantages, long-term value, and performance of the Binary Bunker compared to other modular data systems currently available. Call EdgeMCS (804-379-3092) and we'll provide the details that matter to those responsible for mission critical operations.

The Binary Bunker modular data center's enclosure meets South Florida hurricane standards, snow loading in the Rockies, temperature extremes from the South Pole to the Arabian deserts and when installed on piers provide flood protection. In more than 82 countries, on all 7 continents and in every state we have met the challenge, and here’s why:

The Lightweight Concrete Advantage

Seems like an oxymoron to say "lightweight" concrete but there is a way to get the best attributes of concrete without sacrificing anything except weight.  Call us, we'll explain how!

With lightweight concrete modules, you can take full advantage of concrete’s strength, long life and resistance to the long term effects of the weather. The shelters are pre-assembled, reinforced solid concrete panels welded together to form a single, high strength, module.

The walls, roof, and floor panels are triple sealed for superior weather resistance and welded together creating a single, high strength module.

The completed module is inherently bullet, vandal, fire resistant and thermally efficient.

The standard 4-inch wall construction provides a 2-hour fire endurance rating which is recognized by the SBC, UBC, and BOCA codes.

STANDARD EXTERIOR FINISH

The standard exterior, shown here, is an aesthetically pleasing stone aggregate with a clear coat sealer.

The sealer provides ultra-violet protection and enhances the color of the stone. This enclosure is built to last, doesn't leak and includes a warranty.

OPTIONAL EXTERIOR FINISHES

Options are available to meet your architectural design requirements and the location of your modular data center.

Optional exterior finishes include brick, lap siding, block, fluted concrete, and smooth painted finishes to complement any neighborhood setting.

State-of-the-Art Construction

Our modules standard floor is an insulated 6-inch pre-cast, reinforced concrete panel, and includes integral lifting/anchor points. The lifting/ anchor points allow tie down during transport to site and anchoring to any approved foundation design.

This unique floor section is built with a recessed step joint where the floor joins the wall. That step joint, along with a bearing plate and double seals, eliminates the possibility of water ingress.

The 4-inch reinforced concrete walls are joined together using a two-step key-way joint with double seals. This not only prevents any water entering the modules but also adds a distinctive decorative look.

The standard reinforced concrete roof panel is sloped from the middle to allow water runoff.

The roof to wall joint is an overlapping cap that completely conceals the joint. Integral seals further assure that the joint is waterproof. The roof exterior is coated with a UV resistant, reflective, elastomeric coating to prevent water intrusion and improve thermal performance.

Interior Finishing

Standard module interiors are finished with white FRP veneer panels, high performance materials that are easily maintained.

Walls and ceilings are fully insulated to meet local building codes. The overall shelter U factor is less than .08 Btu/°F. Behind the attractive finish is a backing that facilitates equipment mounting. Floors are finished with an attractive light colored industrial floor tile or non-skid, anti-static epoxy paint.

Module exterior doors are constructed of galvanized steel, primed and painted to coordinate with the building. Doors are fully insulated and equipped with a high performance weather seal. A full length, tamper-proof hinge, and dead bolt lever lock assure module security. Locks can be coordinated with any master system to integrate with your existing network. Fire and ballistic rated doors are also available as options. All doors as well as other building openings have a color-coordinated awning for weather protection.
